"Vetrahalling" is part of my upcoming album "Vetra" – which tranlates to „Winter“. The album presents the traditional tunes from her home region Valdres in Norway. However unlike most of the other songs on this album "Vetrahalling" is not a tradional Norwegian melody, but a composition by myself. As inspiration for the entire project with VETRA, I have written this tune. I'm very happy to have Terje Isungset and Nikolai Matthews with me on the recording of this tune, and not least Tormod Tvete Vik who is in charge of the arrangements.
Fun fact: Vetrahalling is a dancing tune. «Vetra» means winter in Valdres dialect, and «halling» is an acrobatic Norwegian traditional dance in duple measure for a male or female dancing solo.
