Berlin Classics is proud to announce the signing of Norwegian violinist and Hardanger fiddle player Ragnhild Hemsing: “I´m so happy and excited about this new collaboration with the wonderful label Berlin Classics. I´m honored to be part of the Berlin Classics family, and I`m so inspired for our upcoming projects”. Ragnhild Hemsing stands out amongst the rising stars in Norway as a remarkably poised artist. Her unique upbringing, deeply immersed in the rich folk music traditions of Norway enables her to be one of the first artists to successfully merge the instantly identifiable characteristics of Norwegian folk and classical performance in a young, fresh and entirely contemporary fashion. “I am very delighted to welcome such an outstanding and versatile artist like Ragnhild Hemsing in our artist roster”, says Marcus Heinicke, label chef of Berlin Classics.
The recording of her debut album with Berlin Classics will take place end of June 2020 as a co-production with WDR (West German Radio). Together with pianist Mario Häring and cellist Benedict Klöckner she will record a recital repertoire which gives a glimpse into her Norwegian roots. Grunau & Paulus Music Management and Hasko Witte (Büro für Künstler) support her further development competently and actively.
